Welcome to the Triangle Birth Network of North Carolina, serving greater Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill.
Our Mission
The Triangle Birth Network is a local advocacy group dedicated to educating expectant families and the community about choices in childbirth and evidence-based, mother-friendly care as defined by the Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative of the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services (CIMS). The Triangle Birth Network respects each woman’s informed choice regarding what constitutes a good birth for her and her family.
Our members are consumers, parents, midwives, childbirth educators, doulas, massage therapists, lactation consultants, psychotherapists, chiropractors, physicians, and public health professionals. By bringing together the energy and passion for birth of all of these members, we hope to improve birth for families in the Triangle. We know that pregnancy can be a time of both great joy and great anxiety, and we hope that our Network will help you to become better informed about birth and feel more confident about your upcoming labor.
If you are an expectant parent, or are thinking of being one, we hope to serve as a resource for your search for accurate, evidence-based information about birth and maternity care in our area. You are welcome to become a supporting member to help advance our cause of better birth for all women in the Triangle!
